What an existing building gives you

Old industrial buildings were made for heavy loads, tall equipment and serious power. That makes them better starting points for AI than you might expect.

The buildings we look at were usually built for something else: manufacturing, warehousing, printing. What they share is what AI hardware needs. Strong floors, high ceilings, wide spans and a serious electrical service.

What we look for

  • Power already on site, with room to grow.
  • Floors that can take the weight of liquid-cooled racks.
  • Clear height for overhead power and pipework.
  • Space outside for cooling plant.

What we don’t need is a building that was already a data centre. Older halls were planned for a fraction of today’s rack densities, and an empty industrial shell is often easier to adapt.
