Why we’re building AI factories

Intelligence is becoming an industrial product. It needs industrial infrastructure: power, buildings and machines, run as one.

Every era of computing has had its factories. For AI the factory is literal: a building full of machines that turns power into intelligence. The companies training and serving models need that capacity, and they need it on dates they can plan around.

Vertical builds and operates it. We start with live power and existing buildings, fit them for dense GPU systems, and run dedicated clusters for our customers, with our own engineers at every layer.

From power to compute. From ambition to intelligence.

Four layers, one operator

An AI factory is a stack. Power at the bottom, then the buildings and cooling, then the GPU clusters, and at the top, the workloads that run on them. Most providers own one or two of those layers. We run all four, so that the whole stack answers to one team.

About this blog

This is where we’ll write about that work: what we’re building, what we’re learning, and the decisions behind both. Posts are filed by layer, from power at the bottom of the stack to workloads at the top.
